Welcome to LifeSkills Quest (the "App"), a gamified educational platform designed to build social skills, emotional intelligence, and digital literacy in children. The App is owned and operated by Nielsen Narratives, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before downloading, registering for, or using the App. By accessing or using the App, or by allowing a child under your legal guardianship to do so, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. PARENTAL CONSENT AND ELIGIBILITY

  • Adult Accountability: The App is intended for use by children, but account creation, subscription management, and initial setup must be completed by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized educator over the age of 18 ("Parent").

  • Guardian Responsibility: As a Parent, you represent that you are the lawful guardian of any child you authorize to use the App under your account. You agree to monitor your child’s usage and take full legal and financial responsibility for all actions performed through your account.

  • COPPA Compliance: We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Parental validation and explicit consent are required before an account can be fully activated for a child. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect and protect children's data.

2. REAL-WORLD ACTIVITY & SAFETY DISCLAIMER

  • Supervision Required: LifeSkills Quest issues real-world prompt challenges, interactive "Phases," and seasonal "Quests" (e.g., performing recess exercises, adjusting physical environments, interacting with relatives). All real-world challenges must be performed safely and under appropriate adult supervision.

  • Assumption of Risk: Nielsen Narratives, LLC, provides these challenges strictly for educational and entertainment purposes. Parents assume all risks associated with their child participating in physical, social, or offline missions.

  • Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nielsen Narratives, LLC, its creators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any physical injury, emotional distress, property damage, or negative social consequences resulting directly or indirectly from your child's attempts to complete an app mission.

3. ACCOUNT SECURITY

You are responsible for safeguarding the credentials used to access the App. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. Nielsen Narratives, LLC cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this security obligation.

4. GAMIFICATION, XP, AND VIRTUAL REWARDS

  • No Monetary Value: The App utilizes a virtual progression system consisting of Experience Points (XP), levels, milestones, and digital achievement badges (e.g., "Friendship Captain," "Cyber Guardian").

  • Non-Transferable: XP, badges, and levels are purely digital markers used to track educational progress. They have no real-world financial or cash value, cannot be redeemed for legal currency, and cannot be traded, sold, or transferred to other user accounts.

  • Modification Rights: We reserve the right to reset, recalculate, adjust, or alter the XP architecture, baseline targets, or availability of limited-edition quests at any time to preserve game balance or push updates.

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

All content, design features, source code, graphics, custom vector icons, UI layouts, illustrations, texts, and educational frameworks contained within the App are the exclusive intellectual property of Nielsen Narratives, LLC, unless otherwise noted.

  • You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App solely for personal, non-commercial, educational use.

  • You may not modify, reverse-engineer, distribute, scrape, copy, or sell any aspect of the App's source files, spreadsheets, text content, or artwork.

6. SUBSCRIPTIONS, FEES, AND PRINTED MATERIALS

  • Billing: If any portion of the App or accompanying physical workbooks involves a fee or premium subscription, you agree to provide valid, authorized payment information. All billing transactions are handled securely via third-party providers (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Stripe).

  • Physical Materials: Any physical goods or print orders shipped to you (including companion learning materials) are subject to shipping and manufacturing availability. Nielsen Narratives, LLC is not responsible for postal delays or damages caused during third-party transport.

7. TERMINATION OF USE

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your access to the App, with or without notice, if we believe you or your child have violated these Terms, compromised app security, or engaged in abusive behavior.

8. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

Nielsen Narratives, LLC reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide parents with prominent notice inside the app or via email prior to the new terms taking effect. Continued use of the App following the posting of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Nielsen Narratives, LLC operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
